The Laboratory
The hospital has a laboratory where nearly all the parameters of the clinical investigations essential for modern system of medicine are conducted. It is well equipped with necessary instruments including a fully automated biochemistry analyzer and two semi-auto analyzers, haematology analyzer, ELIZA reader. The laboratory added the latest COBAS e 411 (Fully automated) Electrochemiluminiscence Immuno Assay Analyzer which has further enhanced its diagnostic capability. The equipment was donated by the State Bank of India, Regional Branch, as part of its CSR program. Another bio-chemistry analyzer was added with 360tests/hour capacity.
THE BLOOD BANK
School of Nursing:
A School of Nursing was started in the year 1985 for training tribal girls of Arunachal Pradesh. It offers a three-year diploma course in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM). The School is affiliated to the Arunachal Pradesh Nursing Council. The School code is APNC/GNM/01. It has also been recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. To deliver a better quality teaching in the classrooms, the school set up digital equipments with interactive whiteboards. To mitigate the power outage problem, an off grid 30 KW Solar Photovoltaic Power plant has been installed.

Dietary Service:
The hospital provides food free of cost to the in-patients and also to the poor attendants in some cases. Care is taken to see that the diet provided is wholesome and hygienic. The food is cooked in the hospital kitchen, which has a latest electrically operated cooking range rarely found in the North Eastern region. The electrical cooking range ensures that the food cooked in it retains all the nutritional requirements. The kitchen is also equipped with a potato skin peeler, meat cutter, chapati puffer, dough kneader, milk boiler, etc. Great care is taken in buying vegetables and other essential items. Vegetables are also supplied from the hospital garden from time to time.
Dairy Service:
The hospital has a dairy of its own. Milk produced from the dairy is provided to the patients and staff members.
Medical Library:
The hospital medical library housed in the administrative block is open to staff on all working days at evening hours. Books on most medical subjects, medical journals and other medical information are available here. The library has a special collection of books on Orthotics and Prosthetics.
Medical Store:
The hospital has a well-equipped medical store, which stores medicines and other hospital supplies. The store supplies free medicines to the Indoor wards and the outdoor dispensary.
Laundry Services:
The hospital has a laundry service to provide freshly washed clothing and linen to the inpatients of the hospital. The laundry has 6 nos. Industrial Washer and 2 nos. of Industrial Dryer of 10.2 kg capacity each.
Engineering and Maintenance Department:
The hospital has an in-house maintenance department for looking after the minor breakdowns that occur in the day-to-day running of the hospital. The department ensures that work of the hospital is never affected due to minor breakdowns. It also installs new electric fittings, plumbing and sanitary fittings of the hospital.
Department Of Bio-Medical Engineering:
The hospital has Bio-Medical Engineering division which is headed by a qualified and trained clinical engineer. This department is responsible for installation, maintenance and monitoring various equipment’s, instruments and other bio-medical related jobs in the hospital.
Department of Construction & Building Maintenance:
The hospital is proud to have its own construction & building maintenance department which is headed by a monk, who supervises and guides all the construction works and existing building maintenance jobs. The department has been functioning almost since inception. This has erected valuable additional infrastructures such as new OPD building, new staff quarters, etc.
In-House Oxygen Gas Generator:
Until a, few years back, the hospital had to bring medical grade oxygen from Guwahati. This had to purchased. With increase in the number of surgeries, the consumption also increased. This resulted in frequent trips to Guwahati, which become expensive. The hospital decided to find a solution to this. Thanks to the Infosys Foundation, which stepped forward to help us out with an oxygen generation system. Since installation, this has been working very successfully, reducing the expenses and logistic related problems encountered with frequent visits to Guwahati. This has made the work of the nursing staff very easy and the patients are also comfortable with the system.
The hospital installed a high-speed gas bottling plant by which we can fill various sizes of cylinders, which are used for transit patients within the hospital and outside the hospital. Oxygen Generator supplies gas to a manifold, which carries oxygen to all the beds in the hospital though centralized pipeline system.
Ambulance Service:
The hospital runs a free, round the clock, ambulance service for the people in and around Itanagar.
Mortuary:
The mortuary of the Hospital is equipped with refrigerators for 03 bodies.
Staff Quarters:
The hospital complex includes staff quarters in its premises with its own boundary wall. As far as possible, the staff and their family members are provided free accommodation in the premises. Quarters are allotted according to the grade of services. The staff quarter complex of the hospital is an example of unity in diversity, as here people belonging to different caste, creed and religion live together like one big family.
A new 4 stories staff quarter was inaugurated by Srimat Swami Bodhasaranandaji Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math on May 14, 2014 inside the hospital complex. This building has following type of quarters: Type IV – 4 nos., Type III – 2 nos., Type II – 8 nos., Type I – 4 nos.
Pharmacy:
The hospital has a pharmacy to cater to the needs of the patients. By this the patients and their relatives are saved from a lot of trouble in procuring medicine. It was inaugurated by Srimat Swami Bodhasaranandaji Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math on May 14, 2014. A special discount of 10% is provided on all products available.
Paediatric Ward:
A dedicated 31 bedded Paediatric ward was constructed in the space where the old OPD was located. The Ward equipped with Nebuliser, transliterator, Patient Monitor, Syringe Pump, Defibrillator, Oxygen Concentrator.
NICU:
A fully equipped 8 bedded neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for care of ill or premature new born infants was constructed. The unit is equipped with: Foetal Monitor – 7 nos., GE Lullaby warmer – 7 nos., Billisoft + high intense phototherapy – 2 nos., GE Lullaby LED phototherapy units – 7 nos., GE Giraffe Omnibed incubator – 1 no., Oxygen Concentrator – 1 no., Blood Gas Analyser – 1 no.
Bio-Medical Incinerator:
The hospital had installed a bio-medical incinerator of 20 kg per hour burning capacity. Bio-Medical wastes of hospital are collected and are incinerated as per specifications.
Employees’ Co-Operative Society Limited:
The hospital has an Employees’ Co-operative Society Limited, which functions in a double storied building. It runs a medicine shop, a fair price shop and a canteen.
Sub-Post Office:
The hospital has a Sub-Post Office in its own premises, which has been named as the Ramakrishna Mission Post Office. This enables the staff and patients of the hospital to utilize the postal service without having to move out of the campus.
Vivekananda Hall:
The hospital has an auditorium named Vivekananda Hall, with a seating capacity of 400 people. Various seminars and functions are conducted here.
